Obituary of Ruth Ann Fields

Ruth Fields, 97, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2023, at home in Winterport, surrounded by family. Ruth was born on November 14, 1925, in Brighton, MA. Ruth was the daughter of John and Veronica Foley.

In 1945, she married Ralph William Fields (known as "Bud"), the love of her life, and they were married for 51 years. They raised seven (7) children in Frankfort, ME, where she lived all her married life, Ralph (Joette), Wayne (Sharon), Bruce, Kathy (Lowell), Shawn (Joan), Scott (Denise), and Barry (Suzanne). She had ten (10) grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and seven (7) great-great-grandchildren. Ruth always said that her children were her "jewels." She loved all babies, especially when they were "wearing a hat." She was predeceased by her mother and father; nine (9) younger siblings; a daughter-in-law, Sharon; and two (2) grandchildren, Emily and Jamie.

Ruth was a faithful communicant of St. Gabriel's Church in Winterport. She was a very special person in more ways than one and touched the lives of all of those around her. Ruth loved everyone and everyone loved Ruth. There will be a graveside service 11 AM Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Oak Hill Cemetery, 95 Lebanon Rd, Winterport, ME 04496.
