Obituary of Charlotte Cole Dickinson

BANGOR and GREENVILLE—Charlotte (Cole) Dickinson, 91, passed away December 13, 2022.  She was born in Greenville February 23, 1931, to Wilber and Emma (Hathaway) Cole. 

 

She loved her hometown, where she lived most of her life, but moved to Bangor in 2000 for health reasons.  She had been active in community affairs.  At the time of her death, she was still a member of the Union Church and Moosehead Historical Society.  She was the first president of the Lakeview Junior Woman’s Club in 1956.  She was Past Matron of Mowidausis Chapter of the Eastern Star.  For many decades, she and her family enjoyed time at camp on Lower Wilson Pond, where her children and grandchildren learned to swim and water-ski. 

 

She was predeceased by first husband Phil Collins in 1985 and second husband Lew Dickinson in 2006.  She is survived by daughter Ellen Collins of NY; son Jeff Collins and wife Cheryl of Bangor; grandchildren Philip Parson of NY, Marie Parsons-Congdon and husband Brian of CO, Jennifer Collins of CA, Jim Collins of Bangor; great-granddaughter Norah of CO; sister Dorothy Ryder of Veazie; nephew Allan Ryder and family of NH; niece Kathy Ryder Andrews and family of Brooksville; Phil’s nieces and nephews Wanda Gary, Dorinda Somers, Mick Collins, Greg Collins, Sherry Deming, Mike Collins, and their families; several cousins. 

 

Burial will be held at Greenville Cemetery at a date to be announced.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Union Church, P.O. Box 368, Greenville, ME  04441.
