Obituary of Norris James Martin
Norris "Jimmy" James Martin, 75, of Eddington, Maine, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Jimmy was born on June 21, 1951, in Caribou, Maine, to Gilbert Patrick Martin and Annie Theresa (McBreairty) Martin. He spent most of his life in Brewer and Eddington, Maine, where he built lasting friendships and was known for his hardworking nature, generous spirit, and love for his family.
Jimmy worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator, taking great pride in his work and earning the respect of those who worked alongside him. In his younger years, he was a New England Golden Gloves Boxing Champion, an accomplishment that reflected his determination, discipline, and competitive spirit. Outside of work, he enjoyed hunting and spending time with friends through the Eagles Club, the Snowmobile Club, and the Gold Wing Motorcycle Club. Whether on the trails, on the open road, or sharing stories with those he loved, Jimmy embraced life with enthusiasm and a warm heart.
Above all else, Jimmy treasured his family. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Nathan Martin and his wife, Michele, Eric Martin and his wife, Kathy, and Mandy (Martin) Landry and her husband, Charles; his twin sister, Nola Cole of Arizona; his sister, Norma Fontane of New York; his grandchildren, Nicholas Martin, Logan Martin, Samantha Cousins, Morgan Martin and fiancé Cameron Rich, Annissa Jones and husband Tyler Jones, Sierra Jamieson and fiancé Ben Perry, Reice Jamieson and fiancé Mackenzie Rudolph, and Gabe Landry; and his great-grandchildren, Addison Jones, Dominic Jones, Silas Jones, and Freyja Jones. He also leaves behind many extended family members, dear friends, and a special niece, Jane Hewes, who will all miss his presence and cherish the memories they shared.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert Patrick Martin and Annie Theresa (McBreairty) Martin; sisters Nona, Natalie, Nancy, and Naida.
His family will remember him for his strength, strong work ethic, his willingness to lend a helping hand, and the love he had for those closest to him.
Though he will be deeply missed, Jimmy's memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
