Obituary of Thomas M. Figura
Hampden, Maine - Thomas "Tom" Figura passed away peacefully, on August 12, 2025, after many years of struggling with coronary heart disease. He was 68 years old. Tom was born in Allentown, PA, to Evelyn (Macner) Figura and Andrew A. Figura. He grew up in Catasauqua, PA.
He was married to Elizabeth (Bloomberg) Figura, for 41 years. Elizabeth predeceased Tom on May 10, 2025. He was also predeceased by stepson, Azorik Vovin. Tom is survived by his stepchildren, Stephen Garza and wife, Amanda, Robert Baker, and Maria Baker; daughter, Kristen Hornbrook; nine stepgrandchildren, Azriel, Zade, Stephanie, Beth, Joe, Angela, Makeya, Ryan, and Jess; and four great-stepgrandchildren. Tom is also survived by his sisters, Evelyn A. Figura and Elizabeth (Figura) Sarault; three nephews, Russell Sarault III and wife, Abbey, Matthew Sarault, and Ian Sarault and wife, Mandy; three great-nephews, Tyler, Luke, and Ryan; and one great-niece, Harper.
Tom had a passion for his career and a great work ethic. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Penn State University. He worked his entire career in construction management for many different companies, including currently known, Sargent Corporation and Cianbro Corporation. He loved his career and all the projects he was involved in throughout the years, with his last position, prior to retirement, being estimating manager for Cianbro. He always talked about the great people he had the opportunity to work for and work with.
Tom was a loving and caring person, who always thought of others first and doing the right thing. He loved gardening, and he was very proud of his beautiful lily flower beds. Tom traveled throughout his life, with his wife, and together they enjoyed hiking, camping, boating, photography, and music.
Tom expressed his gratitude to all his family and friends and his love for all of them, even up to the time of his final passing. He appreciated everything his family and friends have done for him, throughout his life. We will miss you dad, brother, uncle, cousin and friend!
The family will hold a celebration of life, private ceremony, for Tom, at a to be determined date. He had many wonderful pets throughout his life, of which his most recent pets he had adopted from the Humane Society.
